See what the buzz is about!

We’re honored to have been featured in the Black Hills Pioneer for our work in sustainable land management through goat grazing. The article highlights our mission, the power of natural weed control, and how our goats are making a real impact across the Black Hills—one bite at a time. From fire mitigation to noxious weed control, our herd (and our team!) has been working hard to help landowners protect and restore their property.🐐 Want to learn more about what we do and why it matters?📰 Click to read the full article below on Facebook or click this link to go to the website article!

Our Story

Built by Heart. Rooted in Purpose.

We’re Tara and Jerrid—partners in life, in purpose, and in this wild, beautiful dream called T-Top Timber & Homestead Co.

Our journey started with a deep love for the land, a belief in hard work, and a shared calling to build something real, something meaningful. Living in the Black Hills of South Dakota, surrounded by rugged pines and wide-open skies, we saw the need for services that respected the land, honored traditional skills, and supported the community.

With Jerrid’s background in woodworking, land stewardship, and leadership—and Tara’s passion for farming, homesteading, and hands-on connection to the earth—we blended our skills and hearts to create something different. Something personal. Something with soul.

T-Top Timber & Homestead Co. was born from that vision:
– To offer eco-friendly goat grazing as a natural way to restore and maintain healthy land
– To provide traveling sawmill services that turn local timber into lasting, meaningful lumber
– And to share our mountain homestead products—eggs, honey, produce, and crafts—with folks who value simplicity and sustainability

We do it all ourselves—by hand, with intention, and with the hope that what we build helps others reconnect with nature, their land, and a slower, more grounded way of life.

Whether we’re clearing brush with goats, milling beams for your next build, or handing you a jar of honey straight from our bees—know that it’s coming from people who care deeply about doing things right.

From our homestead to yours,
Tara & Jerrid
Founders, T-Top Timber & Homestead Co.
